IBEW Local 363 Electricians Install LED Lighting On The Walkway Over The Hudson

If you look just north of the Mid-Hudson Bridge and see another set of lights across the Hudson River, you will be looking at the new LED lights that have been installed by IBEW Local 363 Electricians on the Walkway Over the Hudson.

The new lights are now being tested by those same Union Electricians who installed the lighting over the 1 ¼ mile southern railing during the last several months.

The LED lights will complete the overall electrical installation on the bridge, which will activate security monitoring equipment and include electrical outlets across the entire span.

The State Office of Parks and Recreation, which operates the Walkway will use the new LED lighting system for events that request permits.

In the spring of 2010, the lights will be formally unveiled in a special public ceremony.

Thank you to the trained and talented union electricians of IBEW Local 363!

Now these same electricians can admire their work as they sit on the bridge 'till next year, waiting for the next job to call.

The smart electricians go and find work if there is any and not "wait" Brother. Thats a cop out only your wife would believe.

Last time I looked nobody chained anybodys ass to the hall.

You sound like a tail rider to me or you are related to one.

Since this effort to restore and promote the Walkway Bridge has been a labor of love for so many volunteer organizations, should we expect to hear that Local 363 donated their time as well?
I'm just asking.

The reconstruction of the bridge was accomplished by tradesman working full time everyday for several months performing all construction trades - I do not think that any "volunteer" work you speak of could possibly compare to that amount of time, hard work and sweat under the conditions that were at hand.

I believe you are just a dumbass trying to be a smartass.

As a side note I would bet that IBEW Local 363 and all union trades donate more money and time to projects in the Hudson Valley than ANY other organization or organization - they just don't toot their horn about it.

HEY WIRENUT 4EVER:

I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WHO GOT CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST THEM FOR WORKING ""NON-UNION"" WHILE BEING LAID OFF.

THE UNION FORCES YOU TO SIGN A PROMISORY NOTE ASKING FOR UPWARDS OF $10,000 IF YOU WORK NON-UNION.

IT IS ALSO WRITTEN IN THE IBEW CONSTITUTION.

PERHAPS YOU SHOULD SHARE THAT INFO WITH YOUR WIFE WHILE YOUR RIDING HER TAIL.

You need to brush up a little bro your facts are all wet - like water under the bridge. You must not come around much. Ever hear of organizing?? Stop sittin home with your hand out and get involved - you're way behind and misinformed.

Stop sittin on your couch complainin about the hall, either that or just go non union, sounds like you want to anyway, don't let us union guys hold ya back.

....and if you are non union stop listening to people who are making you sound stupid

That's great. I bet those union electricians helped out the economy also. They bought lunch everyday and local eateries. Bought gas for the ride home, lottery tickets, snacks, coffee. Thank you 1BEW 363.

Thank you to all the brave union workers that put their hard work into this project! I will think of you're hard work everytime I cross the walkway. It's beautiful, and in a green world a great way to make use of a useless railroad bridge. Let's hear more about the union projects in the Hudson Valley! My Grandfather, father, brother, and son are all union!
