Mayor James Sottile Ruins Mans Christmas

Looks like Mayor James Sottile gets the Grinch Award for Christmas 2008. A man who worked for the City of Kingston in the Recreation Department was among those to be cut in the Mayors careless budget proposal. The Common Council, while reviewing the Mayors work did some basic math and realized that there were ways to trim the budget and save some of the peoples jobs.
The Common Council rejected the Mayors proposal and later, unnanimously voted to override the Mayors VETO of their changes, once again saving those jobs.

With the Councils budget, this particular Recreation department job wasn't totally salvaged but it was brought back to a part-time position. The man that was involved was grateful even though it would still a dramatic change for him and his family.

Much to his suprise, he received word that the Mayor was laying him off totally. The Mayor would not fund the position no matter what the Council voted for.

The saddest part about this is - The man finds out about this out during the week of Christmas. How nice of the Mayor!

So listen to the words in the video about the Grinch and think about how those words so fittingly apply to the Mayor of the City of Kingston.

He is a sly one that Mayor Sottile the Grinch. I have a feeling that the Common Council along with the CSEA will be singing Yahoo, Yahoo
around the Christmas tree, in the very near furture. In the end even the Grinch had a heart, what is Sottile excuse?

I disagree with you. He's Mayor Scrooge!

Let's go to the polls.

Now the City of Kingston will really see what kind of Council it has. With all the work that was put into lowering the taxes from the council we will see the rubber meet the road. This man has a harden heart. The workers of this city better take notice and get with the union. If the workers would get behind CSEA no jobs not one of them could be taken. Remember this Mayor is putting our city in ruins. This was the best clip at the right time. This show us what he is!

What an awful thing for him to do especially during the same week of Christmas. He is a piece of crap who doesn't care for anyone but himself and his few little worthless sidekicks.

Youre a mean one, Mr. Grinch. Scrooge also fits. Along with jerk.

I hope the Mayor thinks tonight of the families he has hurt all year and all of the stupid things he has done. He is a discrace and is making fools of everybody in this city.

Merry Christmas Mayor - you need to resign and let us have our city and our reputation back.

This all started with him throwing drinks at ladies in the bar, its been all downhill from that night.

I hope Rich Cahill runs again and drives him out of office. Cahill may be a Republican, but at least he understands the working man.

Cahill has backed CSEA all the way even though he does not hold office right now. Cahill for Mayor.

Yes it has been down hill for him. Any time a man does a move like that everyone see's his true colors. Look at the size of him to her. He could only wish his wife would take up for him like that. We are helpmates to our mate and she did the right thing. You see she did not hurt him ,but he had to be the show off and go after a woman. Just like the woman of DPW, thank God they took pictures or else he would have had them fired by now. No matter what he say's about those woman they go to work everyday and do their jobs. They have to look him in his face and listen to all the crap that he has his people saying, but they keep doing their jobs. That show us something about them. Strong, bright, full of heart, working woman. This shows us alot, The Mayor does not come to Council meetings or even shows his face anymore. Grinch, Scrooge, you can say what you want but SHAME is the real word for this man.

Where is Brian woltman on this issue? He supported the mayor in a big way during election. Is he a true union man or is he afraid to take a stand? I see Troy Ashdown time and again speak out on tough issues regarding the union. As a member of CSEA, Kingston I am voting for him and B. Robbins. If the union wasn't there with these guys standing up can you imagine what the administration would do to the wokers? Woltman, get your head out of your ass! Support the Union and stop kissing up to the front office. Could be your job next.

Woltman is bidding the rigs so to speak - watchdog Tuey asleep at the switch -- it's taxpayers against City Hall - all of them - Joe Marchetti was squashed by closing Public Access - was the protest on Utube along with Jimbo's slap it to me?

This city is a city of excuses. The people of Kingston need to wake up and see whats going on.The good old boy club is in full grear. How many blacks work in city hall? How many blacks are management in the city of kingston? Just think. From the hospitals to city hall people of color can not make a good living in the city. How many people of color have any of these jobs? Now lets go on, how many people can get a job at city hall without knowing someone? How many people really get an interview just by what is on their application? If the city employees did not have a union to stand up for the rights of everyone believe what you are reading about people of color and people that just moved here. This mayor and the good old boys are deep in the city and its time we get some freedom in this controled town. UNION, UNION UNION is for the working people of any color. CSEA only sees people working hard. We need smart well rounded people to run our city and union. Ashdown will not make excuses he will stand for fairness, respect, and all people in the UNION, city hall, DPW, any department. Woltman not so. Some people are leaders and some are followers. Woltman not a leader as long as he stands for lies, pride, and makes excuses for the mayor. NO BALLS

Here's a link with a song that fits Sottile perfectly. Maybe it can be his theme song.

I don't know - it seems to me that Marchetis and R. Cahill demand lower taxes while leading protests to such issues and when the Mayor stands firm on tough cuts they still call him names. Perhaps its just personalities now but the Mayor can't win for losing.

8:08 The Mayors made his own bed, now let him lie in it. He didn't make the cuts the council did. All he wanted to do was give some people different jobs or hire more flunkies like Woltman. He eliminated some positons while creating new ones like they did for Woltman.

Jim takes great care of his campaign worker firemen. Join the program or stop crying.

Do you think it's legal. ethical or moral for the mayor to allow City employees to work on his campaign during a contract negotiation? Ask Reynolds he works for the make believe State Comptroller. Wow as much teeth as make believe Cahill buddy Rat- a - Tuey.
